That's what I was told, so I decided to go see Hoi Hoi. The name of the PC is "raytrek R5-TA6". It is the latest model of Dospara's PC brand for creators, but it seems that the concept is "a creator's multi-tool that thinks about creators". Whoa! seems interesting.

Come to think of it, it would be interesting to display a laptop in a store that sells the latest gadgets. While there are parts of a PC that can be judged by its specs, I think there are also parts that can only be understood by seeing and touching the real thing. I'm glad you can feel it!

This is a dream gadget shop!

That's how I came to b8ta in Yurakucho. This store has gadgets that you can't see in ordinary stores, such as new products just made by startup companies and up-and-coming products born from crowdfunding. In other words, a store where you can discover and experience.

I entered the store after disinfecting with alcohol to prevent corona infection at the entrance.

Checking the power of a PC for creators

I see, it makes sense that the raytrek R5-TA6, a tool for creators, would be on display in this stimulating shop.

Hmmm, that's a simple and stylish laptop. When it comes to notebook PCs for creators, we tend to imagine a PC that looks like a cushion, but it's slimmer than I thought. It looks like it's good to carry, and it looks like it's going to be good to handle telework.

Also, when I touched the real thing, I found that the keyboard is good. Equipped with a numeric keypad, this is a high point. When I'm at home, I basically work with an external keyboard, but I'm the type of person who wants a numeric keypad on an external keyboard, in my case. Because I want to type in numbers.

Even when using creative tools such as Adobe software, there are many scenes where numerical input is required. However, the wired keyboard at home has a numeric keypad, but the notebook PC that I operate on the go does not have a numeric keypad. There are times when I feel that this is very efficient. Let's check out the display too. I had Lightroom Classic installed, so I read the photos I brought and retouched them. If you usually use a 13-inch laptop, the spaciousness of 15.6 inches is comfortable. About 99% of sRGB coverage is sufficient for color gamut expression. The environment inside the store was quite bright, but thanks to the non-glossy surface, I was able to see the colors without worrying about the reflection.

Also, I tried batch exporting RAW and heavy processing to check the computing performance, but there was no problem. After all, the CPU is working, the horsepower is different. I couldn't try video software like Premiere Pro, but the GPU is a GeForce RTX 3060 and it will work well.

And when you run the software, you can re-recognize the goodness of the keyboard. Numeric keypad is really good. Numerical values ​​in Lightroom Classic can be changed from top to bottom, and numerical values ​​in spreadsheet software can be entered smartly. For those looking for a high-spec laptop with a numeric keypad, this is the kind of comfort you'll want to experience.

A model that many people will say is "easy to use"

When I touched it, the meaning of the concept "a creator's multi-tool that thought out about creators" was revealed. I think I understand.

Overall easy to use = good balance. I think this is the reason why it is called a multi-tool.

The product on display this time was a memory 32GB model, but if you purchase a customizable model and upgrade the memory and SSD capacity, you have the potential to become even stronger in your creative work. If you run multiple 3D software such as Blender or Cinema 4D, one option is to expand the memory to 64GB.

The last thing is the price. The price of "raytrek R5-TA6" without customization is 199,980 yen (as of August 20, 2021). Yes, it doesn't cost 200,000 yen. I think the world will change between the 100,000 yen range and the 200,000 yen range for notebook PCs for creators and gaming, but the combination of Core i7-11800H and RTX 3060 under 200,000 is a pretty good balance. I don't know.

It was a very easy-to-understand notebook PC that embodied ease of use and ease of selection for users in terms of many factors such as specifications, price, and design.
