SKY-HI: Hi, I don't think avex knew anything.

When I decided to go to college, I started living alone, and even after AAA started, I was just writing songs, going to clubs, and rapping.

I was doing it thinking, "(as SKY-HI) it will sell," but I think it was just a hobby.

ーーDid you have a desire to get avex to recognize your activities as SKY-HI from that time?

SKY-HI: None at all. However, 7-8 years ago (when SKY-HI started activities), it was still an era when you could feel the significance of releasing a CD from a major label.

The situation is different now.

SKY-HI: It was a time when there were radio hits, and above all, there were really no major releases by hip-hop artists.

Also, at that time, the values ​​of rappers were changing, and it was said that "selling" was the coolest thing.

Even though it was that kind of time, there really weren't any rappers who had major releases, and there weren't any rappers who could tour.

ーーLives in clubs late at night were the norm, and there weren't many opportunities to see live performances during the day compared to now.

SKY-HI: Yeah. Among them, I thought that the most interesting challenge was to do rap in a field called major.

First of all, I wanted to do a major.

SKY-HI: What is the most sensational in that era?

In simple terms, I think the most important thing is to maximize your potential.

ーーBecause it was rare for a rapper to make a major debut, it would lead to selling as SKY-HI.

However, at that time, I had already been with avex for nearly 10 years, and I couldn't be heartless enough to let SKY-HI be on another label.
