[Barrier] How to switch Japanese input from Windows to Mac

When using the mouse/keyboard sharing app "Barrier" with Windows as the host and the Mac side as the client, the "alphanumeric" and "kana" keys (the "convert" and "non-convert" keys on the Windows side) I will write a workaround for the fact that Japanese input can not be switched.

It's quite a pera article, but it didn't come out even if I looked it up, and it took me a while to find it on my own, so I'm sharing it as information.

It is safe to use "Ctrl" + "Space" if there is no customization. I couldn't find a way to send "no conversion" as Mac's "alphanumeric" and "kana" keys. (As of December 2021. If anyone knows, please let us know in the comments or on Twitter)

[Barrier] Windows → Mac Japan How to switch word input

The first thing that came to my mind was to substitute the default keyboard shortcuts for the Mac version of "Google Japanese Input".

However, unfortunately from Windows Barrier, "Ctrl" + "Shift" + ";", which is equivalent to "^" + "Shift" + ";" on Mac, does not work at all.

Why is it that hiragana "J" and katakana "K" patterns work? And when I was looking for an alternative again, I came to the conclusion that "^" + "Space", which can be said to be the basics of Mac OS operation, can be used.

In other words, you can use "Ctrl" + "Space" from Windows.

If you press ``^'' + ``Space'' hard, you'll get something like this ↓.

There are also measures such as installing an application for keyboard customization or assigning "Disable IME after cancel" to some key in the "Google Japanese Input" environment settings, but for the time being, do not customize anything This is the method that can be used for .
