With the Gmail app for Android, you can easily delete the original message. Let's see how to operate it.
Open the message you want to reply to first.
Tap "Reply button" or "Reply" or "Reply to all".
Press and hold "..." at the bottom of the message.
Finally, tap "Delete original message".
Since the original message can be deleted by the above operation, you can send an email without replying to a quote.
If you don't want to reply to quotes in the iPhone app version of Gmail, do it manually.
Open the email you want to reply to first.
Next, tap the reply mark or "Reply" to move to the reply message composition screen.
When the message composition screen appears, double-tap the quote at the bottom of the email to select all the sentences.
Finally, tap Delete to complete the operation. The quote should be deleted.
In the case of Gmail for PC, as of November 2021, there seems to be no setting to not reply to quotes in Gmail. Therefore, manually delete the original message using the following method.
Open the email you want to reply to first and click Reply.
Click the "..." displayed at the bottom left of the reply message to open it.
Move the mouse cursor to the reply text and press the "A" key while holding down the "Alt" key. * For Mac, press the command key + A key at the same time to select all.
All sentences are selected, so press the "Delete" key to complete the operation.
Use "quotes" when you want to cut out only a part of the received email and reply!
If you want to cut out only a part of the mail received by Gmail and reply with a quote, it may be better to use quotation marks.
Quotation marks are called "quotation marks" and correspond to "''" (single quotation marks) or "" "(double quotation marks).
Depending on the IME (input method editing program) you are using, you should see quotes when you convert the "" mark.
