Logitech, a thin tenkeyless keyboard "MX KEYS MINI" that can be used effectively on the desk

On October 14, Logitech announced a space-saving wireless keyboard "MX KEYS MINI Minimalist Wireless Illuminated Keyboard" (hereafter, MX KEYS MINI).

Three colors available in Japan are Pale Gray, Graphite, and Rose. The release date is November 11th, and the price is open. Logitech online store price is 13,860 yen.

"MX KEYS MINI" is a space-saving model that eliminates the numeric keypad based on the thin high-end keyboard "MX KEYS" released by Logitech in 2019. The full-size keyboard "MX KEYS" is 430.2 mm wide, while the MX KEYS MINI is 296 mm, about 13 cm shorter. As a result, it is possible to use more space on the desk and narrow the reachable area, so you can work in the correct posture.

At the top, there are shortcut keys that double as function keys. Of these, as unique keys, F6 has a dictation key, F7 has a pictogram key, and F8 has a mute setting/release key.

The dictation key is a function to turn on voice input (Japanese is only supported on Mac / Windows 11. Windows 10 is not supported), the emoji key is a function to select emoji when entering text, mute setting / canceling The key can be easily muted or canceled in a video call. To enable the mute function, it is necessary to install the utility "Logicool Option".

Logitech, slim for desktop use Tenkeyless keyboard

Equipped with proximity sensor like MX KEYS. When your hand approaches the keyboard, the backlight automatically turns on depending on the ambient brightness. In addition, the keycaps have indentations that match the shape of the fingers to improve typing comfort.

Supported OS is Windows 10 or later, macOS 10.15 or later, Linux, Chrome OS, iOS 13.4 or later, Android 5.0 or later. You can connect up to 3 devices with Bluetooth and switch the connection destination with the Easy-Switch key on the upper left of the main unit.

The key pitch is 19mm and the keystroke is 1.8mm. The key layout is an 83-key Japanese keyboard. Pressing pressure is 60±20g. The key structure is a pantograph structure, and it is basically the same keystroke feeling as MX KEYS.

The body size is 296 x 132 x 21 mm, and the weight is 506 g. The main unit is battery-powered and can be driven for up to 10 days when fully charged (when the backlight is on, up to 5 months when it is off). The charging interface is USB Type-C.

The connection supports Bluetooth or our own wireless communication technology Logi Bolt. A dedicated USB receiver is required to connect with the Logi Bolt, but it is not included in the product and is sold separately. The Logi Bolt standard is not compatible with the Unifying standard so far, so it cannot be connected with the Unifying USB receiver.

Logitech says it doesn't include a USB receiver because it "believes Bluetooth is the best connection for most users." The MX KEYS MINI's Bluetooth connectivity has been improved over the years in cooperation with Microsoft and Apple.

In conjunction with the release of MX KEYS MINI, the USB receiver for Logi Bolt "Logi Bolt Wireless Connection USB Receiver" and "Adapter USB-C - A" will be released separately. The price is open, and the Logitech online store price is 1,210 yen.
