Preparing for Windows 11-Is "Window Border" abolished?
This article is based on Windows 11 Insider Preview build 22000.100.
Since Windows 10, the function to enclose one pixel of the outer frame of the window with an accent color has been added. I had it enabled when I first migrated from Windows 8.1 because I could tell the active window at a glance, but when I noticed it was turned off. It's unclear if this spec will be carried over to GA (general availability), but Windows 11 Insider Preview has similar functionality.
The setting "Add accent color to title bar and window border" is still a function to color the outer frame and title bar of the window even in Windows 11 Insider Preview build 22000.100. However, I feel that it doesn't suit the atmosphere of Windows 11 as a whole.
Comparing "Add accent color to title bar and window border" in the on / off state, the accent color is not arranged in the title bar of Explorer, which is the active window. In addition, the background window, Microsoft Edge, is colored.
I tried several apps, but Microsoft Teams and smartphone sync, like Explorer, had no title bar color scheme. I can't say for sure that the Windows UI Library, which is in the process of transformation, will move to WinUI 3 in the future, but there is a high possibility that "Adding accent colors to the title bar and window border" will be abolished or reduced in functionality.
