A new development procedure that is made into IoT and remotely control key -made PLC
System diagram of "IoT DIY recipe" for "KV-8000" series
Soracom released the "IoT DIY recipe" on January 27, 2022, which describes the procedure for remotely control the KV-8000 series of Keyence PLC (programmable logic controller) into IoT (Internet of things). The IoT DIY recipe is the IoT development procedure that Soracom has released for free. For Raspberry Pi and Arduino compatible devices, more than 50 recipes have been released so far. This time, a new IoT recipe that has accessed the KV-8000 series using a PC has been newly released. Soracom's platform can be connected private by cellular communication via an LTE router, and the KV-8000 series CPU unit can be remotely controlled using the management software "KV Studio". Since cellular communication is used, there is no need to provide fixed lines locally. In addition, there is no danger of unauthorized access from the Internet because it is accessed through a private network. Remote maintenance eliminates the need for PLC maintenance work to go to the site, contributing to speeding up customer response, man -hours, and cost reduction.
