Not only can the network range of general routers be expanded, but it also supports TP-Link's original mesh Wi-Fi system "OneMesh", and if it is a product compatible with this system, it is easy to build a mesh Wi-Fi network. can do.

This is the "TP-Link RE600X" introduced this time. The main body size is 78 x 36 x 149 mm and is palm-sized. There is a plug on the back, and it is a format that you can use by inserting the main body directly into an outlet.

The weight of the main unit is also light, so it should not put a load on the outlet at home or break it. In the conventional product, two antennas were outside the main body, but in the case of "TP-Link RE600X", the antenna is built in the main body, making it a simple design.

Even if "TP-Link RE600X" is linked with a OneMesh compatible router, there is only one SSID. Users don't have to worry about which router / repeater is best to connect to, as it is automatically adjusted between devices.

In this review, I tried to verify by alternately wandering around the base router and the repeater while straddling multiple rooms, but it does not become difficult to communicate at the joint and it can be used comfortably. The author has confirmed. It seemed that the seamless transition of the connection destination, which is a feature of mesh Wi-Fi, was also handled well.

I also checked the important communication speed.

The environment used for this review was an environment where downlink 212 Mbps and uplink 137 Mbps were possible, but when I tried to communicate by connecting to the repeater side, I was able to communicate at downlink 163 Mbps and uplink 128 Mbps.

After all, the speed was a little slower than the base router, but considering that it is relaying, it can not be said that it has dropped so much, and it can be said that it has sufficient performance.

In the first place, the repeater is a product that is installed in a place where the network does not reach or the communication speed is slow, away from the mother router, so if such a communication speed can be obtained, there is a sufficient merit to introduce it.

The "TP-Link RE600X" is also equipped with smart functions such as a beamforming function that changes the direction in which radio waves are transmitted in the direction in which more traffic is required.

Settings can be made with the dedicated application "Tether". There is no need for difficult settings, and once you set it, you can use it for a long time, so if you are dissatisfied with the current network coverage, why not introduce it?
